When I bit into the burger, I went back to my childhood, and it brought me joy to devour the burger. When I ate the fries, I cried from how delicious they were and would definitely recommend anyone to pals. The coke could have used a little more syrup, but hey, who cares from how good the food is.
After a 392-mile journey, nearing Knoxville with a car full of anticipation, the unanimous cry of hunger from the backseat was met with a quick consensus: Waffle House. But then, like a beacon of culinary inspiration, we realized PAL’s Sudden Service was a mere 9 miles detour off the interstate. What better way to mark our return to Tennessee than with the iconic Big Pal, a side of their perfectly seasoned fries, and the sweet, refreshing sips of their legendary tea? It’s moments like these that remind us—some detours are not just worth it, they’re essential. PAL’s didn’t just satisfy our hunger; it reignited our home-state pride with every bite.
This place is great. Fries have a really good seasoning, burgers are large and flavorful. They also make it very easy to customize your burger. Everything is fresh and made to order. No eating on site, but a nice drive thru that is quick and efficient. Prices are very reasonable. My family ate for 17, and we all left happy and full. Will definitely be visiting again in the future.
One of my favorites! Great burgers, fries, hot dogs and shakes! The prices are low and the food is fabulous. It’s a regional chain in TN and if you drive by one, STOP! You can thank me later!
What a great local chain restaurant. Hot dogs hamburgers fries milkshakes everything you'd want from an old time drive up restaurant. I got the hot dog with chili mustard and onions which is how it comes standard. It was delicious there's a little bit of spice to the chili and the hot dog is a basic Frank with no casing. There's no place to sit inside it's only drive up. Pro/local tip you order on one side of the building and pick it up on the other. This place is always busy at lunch time there's a line usually out to the street so act accordingly.

Fast drive-thru with tasty food. No dine in here except in a parking space inside your car. It's worth every minute of the wonderful taste of these burgers.
Always fast at moving the drive thru , the food is always made right and good and the employees are always very friendly!!!!! I eat out alot and alot of places let's you down these days but PALS NEVER EVER DISSAPOINTS!!!!!! P.S a lobby would be nice though so people can eat inside.
